My projects includes working on Java and Ruby on Rails and Ajax. I think Web Services is really cool. We also recently have to now work on REST and they are talking about mashups and Struts. Can anyone tell me if there are some good training or conferences so that me and my team members can get to speed with these technologies. Learning from books is not my cup of tea, even not when I was doing engineering ;)

All the help that group members can provide in this regard is much appreciated.

Thanks,
VaibhaviAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7191348256178360026.post-58932442080299696472008-02-06T01:36:00.000-08:002008-02-06T01:36:00.000-08:00I have been attending Pune's Barcamp since 2007.We...I have been attending Pune's Barcamp since 2007.
Well i think Barcamp is one of the popular Unconference not because of:

Attendees ->Cannot Predict their intentions
Speakers -> Not all are good
Food & TShirt -> Materialistic
Media - > Who cares

because of

Few like minded people crazy of technology & willing to share it get a platfomr like BarCamp :)

After stepping out of the barcamp i have seen people changing their platform, job, views & approach towards doing things :)

Looking forward for PuneBarcamp4Bhavyahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08246240994690546229noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7191348256178360026.post-61774624297518994202008-02-05T23:10:00.000-08:002008-02-05T23:10:00.000-08:00hmm...defining success is very difficult. You have...hmm...defining success is very difficult. You have pointed out all the points which one should consider.

For me - For the open conference where no one is controlling the other people to get things done, the conference happens and people do attend (may be first few hrs) is itself is success.

I have couple of suggestion: [1]. Sometimes (at least i experienced in 2nd)speakers are not allowed to distribute the T-Shirts. I think that should be allowed. At least the last speaker will think of distributing more/good quality shirts.

[2]. Let speakers announce information about the Talk on wiki much before the talk.

[3]. Allow people to promote the order/schedule of the talk.

[4]. Quality talks.. really difficult to judge which one would be quality talk/area. All areas are important - but let people vote on talks.. some way to generate numbers like how many are really interested to attend the talk-the speaker gets the hint-when he should be talking etc..

--sopan shewaleSopanShewalehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07272121747180237201noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7191348256178360026.post-90713448349882764012008-01-16T00:18:00.000-08:002008-01-16T00:18:00.000-08:00If people are willing, could they upload code some...If people are willing, could they upload code somewhere?

Because i remember at Barcamp Pune 3, a Facebook app was showcased and there was a lot to be said in very little time. I felt that i needed a little more detail.. :)

So it would be nice if one could go back and reflect on stuff that happened during the Barcamp...Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7191348256178360026.post-48406557967995990422008-01-11T14:27:00.000-08:002008-01-11T14:27:00.000-08:00hey kiran,attending BarCamp Ahmedabad?I might come...hey kiran,
attending BarCamp Ahmedabad?

I might come too.

:)Gautam Kishorehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13327364342401395349noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7191348256178360026.post-73209150123387412442008-01-06T22:54:00.000-08:002008-01-06T22:54:00.000-08:00We can also have some quiz/debates with some token...We can also have some quiz/debates with some tokens as appreciation for participants, winners.
